Chris Lightfoot has decided to relinquish the post he first took up in 1993, after the sad death of the Project’s first Director, Prof. R. Martin Harrison. Chris has completed some 15 years of excavation at the site. He hopes the publication later this year of Amorium Reports vols. 3 and 4 will mark a fitting end to his career at Amorium. He now wishes to concentrate on his work as Curator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

A new Director is now urgently sought in order that work can resume on site in 2011.

In the first instance interested candidates should apply to the British Institute of Archaeology at Ankara through its Director, Dr. Lutgarde Vandeput.
